Antonio Martinez Barrera, PA, MSc

Antonio Martinez Barrera, PA, MSc, is a medical professional with over two decades of experience in clinical care and medical education. He graduated with honors, earning the prestigious Título de Oro, as a Medical Doctor from the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences of Santiago de Cuba in 2004.

He completed a Family Medicine Specialty in 2006 and a Specialization in Ophthalmology in 2009.

Antonio holds two master's degrees: one in Medical Education from Holguín, Cuba, and another in Clinical Optometry from Salus University in Pennsylvania.

Since 2021, he has been certified as a Physician Assistant by the Arizona Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants. His extensive training across primary care, ophthalmology, and optometry reflects a deep commitment to providing well-rounded, evidence-based care.

Antonio chose medicine out of a lifelong passion for helping others. What drives him most is seeing his patients recover and knowing he played a role in improving their health and quality of life.

Outside the clinic, Antonio enjoys spending time with his family, experimenting with new recipes from around the world, and photographing meaningful moments. He especially enjoys Cuban cuisine, with ropa vieja and sweet plantains among his favorites.
