Desert Senita Honors Dr. Parkin’s Legacy and commitment to accessible healthcare in Stanfield

In 1998, Dr. James Ligouri, in partnership with the Pinal County Health Department, opened the Stanfield Clinic to bring medical care to a community that needed it most. Among the first to volunteer was Dr. Parkin, a physician deeply committed to ensuring everyone had access to care.

When the Health Department lost funding in 2008 and the clinic was forced to close, Dr. Parkin could not ignore the need he had witnessed firsthand. Determined to keep care accessible in Stanfield, he helped reopen the clinic through local partnerships and continued serving patients for another decade.
